Lene Madsen was an Associate with Epstein Cole for four years (2003 - 2007), and presently provides legal services for Epstein Cole clients on a consultancy basis. Lene is based in London, Ontario, and practices exclusively family law.
Lene is co-author, with Philip Epstein, of Epstein and Madsen's This Week in Family Law, published weekly by Carswell and read throughout Canada by the family law bench and bar. Lene has researched and published on a range of family law related issues. Recent publications include an article on parallel parenting as a form of joint custody, and an article on legal standards affecting families in the immigration system.
Lene holds an LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School, where she was awarded several prizes and distinctions. Prior to her legal education, Lene completed an Honours BA at McGill University and a Masters Degree at York University. Before becoming a family lawyer, Lene worked in the field of human rights and international development.
Lene was called to the Bar in 2003, after clerking at the Ontario Court of Appeal, where she was clerk to R. Roy McMurtry, the Chief Justice of Ontario.
